ABOUT THE ARTIST
A native of Newark, NJ, Ms. Watson earned her BFA from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. She is a Visual Artist who has worked as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Her commercial work has appeared in: Time-Life Books, Time-Life for Children, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Times, Emerge Magazine, YSB Magazine, Black Entertainment Television's Annual Report, PBS' Agenda and The Wall Street Journal's National Business Employment Weekly. Ms. Watson has lectured at The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Marymount University, Howard University and taught at Northern Virginia Community College. Her work has appeared on ABC's Nightline and WETA, Channel 26.
Ms. Watson's work has been exhibited at the Annual National Black Fine Art Show, New York City, New York, the National Black Arts Festival, Atlanta, Georgia an International Art Exhibit at the Russell Senate Building Rotunda Washington, DC and at the Parish Gallery, Washington, DC. Ms. Watson's art reflects her observations of a people and their culture through a vision that is deeply grounded in faith in Jesus Christ. Ms. Watson's paintings have been purchased by many private collectors. Corporate Commissions include: Mercer Management, Washington, DC, and Horne Engineering, Fairfax, VA. Her work can also be found in the private collections of Fairfax County Fostercare & Adoption, Fairfax, VA and Black Women United for Action in Springfield, VA.
